The enjoyment that singing brings to the people surpasses beyond the idea of becoming a singing sensation or a popular star. Mostly, the intention of people who sign up for voice lessons are basically to learn how to sing and not the fame you will get out of it. It’s merely the enjoyment that it brings and the art of singing which is the focus of the learning experience.

The internet is the best source of singing lessons online. No need to go further, no need to spend gasoline to drive miles to be able to learn and no need to cut down on your budget just to enrol voice lessons. It’s just a finger press away. Turn on the computer and search the net. You will be surprise to discover a lot of websites of online singing lessons, where it is given for free.

Online singing lessons are freely accessed in the net, it’s not only effective but also it can become enjoyable and easily accessible. We have already mention the many benefits of voice singing lessons in the past articles. Do you sing well? can you hit the right melody and the notes. Are you familiar to producing head tones? Are you good with using falsetto? and when to use them and when not to? All these are surprisingly can be learn by using online singing lessons, that easy! If you have all those obstacles in . the needs to hire a voice coach, then access to the internet best suits you

Have you heard of those who do shout singing, or shouting while they sing? For others who do it, it may sound nice and perfect, but do you know that shouting is not singing? A wrong concept is assumed almost by everyone that when you shout while you sing, it does feel better and that it make the music melodious and it creates a grand finale of the song, little did they know that it jeopardizes the quality of their voice and the overall effect to singing and the song. Never attempt to incorporate in a song the shouting because it is not considered an act of a professional singer. If you intend to sing well and learn the most effective way to sing well, do away with shout singing.

What is stage fright? Are you suffering from it? Can you control it? If you suffer from stage fright every time you face an audience while you sing or even experience stage fright with a personal encounter with a voice coach, then it will affect your skill in singing. It will not give you the spontaneity of your ability to sing well. The good news is: It can be easily overcome by using the online singing lessons because there is no need to stand before the crowd or a voice coach and you can be yourself while learning, where you lose all those inhibitions and singing it the most natural way.

Breathing for Singing: Singing and speaking are based on breathing. When you sing or speak air is pushed through your vocal chords – [...]

Breathing for Singing

Singing and speaking are based on breathing.

When you sing or speak air is pushed through your vocal chords – this makes them vibrate to produce the sound of your voice… obviously this means that breathing control is essential for singing

Breathing for singing is regulated by the ensemble of your diaphragm, your intercostal muscles and your abdominal muscles

Your diaphragm is a dome shaped muscle at the bottom of your rib cage; it moves downward (your belly rises somewhat) while you are inhaling and it moves upward while you are exhaling (your belly deflates somewhat)… what is important for your diaphragm is that it has the space to function properly – that is provided by the proper posture outlined in my previous post… your diaphragm is the key muscle for breathing, thus it is obviously very important, yet for singing it is equally important to work with your intercostal and abdominal muscles

When you breathe air is going into your lungs and for singing you want to make your lung capacity expand because that air is the ‘fuel’ of your voice

You increase your lung capacity by using your intercostal muscles which are the muscles in between your ribs – as you inhale and stretch your capacity to expand your intercostal muscles (your chest) your lungs also expand because your ribs and lungs are attached to each other

You do not have to think about taking in a lot of air by grasping at or gulping the breathe; all you have to think about is moving and stretching your intercostal muscles to allow you chest and lungs to expand – then air comes in automatically and this is how to breathe quickly and quietly

Have you ever noticed that a person who is out of tune actually has a warm, beautiful, free, effortless, confident, resonant voice?

No – of course you haven’t, because the person who consistently sings off key also sings with a restricted sound. It may be forced, held-back, pressured, tense, wobbling or restricted in some other way – in all cases the sound is restricted and is not free!

Imagine a properly tuned guitar with strings that are somehow restricted from vibrating freely. Here it is easy to see and understand why it does not generate a pleasant sound. Just as a guitar string is able to vibrate freely when there is nothing hindering it, your voicebox is able to generate pleasant sounds when there is nothing restricting it (like all that trying and worrying about singing in key which happens to use the wrong side of your brain for singing).

In this light a very effective approach to singing in key is to discover your true voice so that you can release the sound and sing with freedom and confidence. You can do this on your own through trial and error; in your exploration you will eventually discover that singing on key is more a muscle concern than your ability to hear musically. Unfortunately doing this on your own means that the price you pay in terms of time and the risk of more problems is quite high.

Thus finding a good vocal technique teacher who understands your problem and situation, and, one who can teach you to release your sound through proper technique, would be the most beneficial way to discover and develop your true voice. This is by far the most efficient and therefore best approach for you to be able to truly sing with the freedom you want – and naturally be in key!

How to sing in key?

The best way to overcome difficulties with singing in key is to get singing lessons – here’s why.

Singing in key, or with correct pitch as it is also called, is one of the main concerns and goals for singers of all experience levels. Obviously this is important because singing in key is what makes singing different from speaking. Folks who sing out of key get noticed for their not very pleasant sound while the voices of those who sing with proper pitch are welcomed and applauded.

So how do you learn to sing in key?

Many people who have difficulty singing in key have been told that they are tone deaf. And although that is possible in very rare cases; it is simply not true for the vast majority of people because the fact is that most of the world’s people sing naturally; for example: music making and singing is common to most religions and indigenous cultures.

The problem of not singing in key is generally understood as a situation of not listening to yourself. Thus a common prescription for resolving this difficulty is to develop your ear and fine-tune your ability to hear musically. The outcome of this approach is that you practice singing scales and intricate patterns of notes while being mindful to ‘hear the note in your head before singing it’ as a means of developing this skill.

However there is another approach (part II tomorrow).

Discover and Train Your Middle Voice.

Why is it number one?

Well, when you develop a strong Middle Voice, good things happen!

Firstly, a strong middle or mixed register is the key to hitting high, powerful notes. Also, singing in your middle voice takes the strain off your voice. It removes vocal tension. Your middle voice also sounds wonderful, because what you are doing here is blending your other two vocal registers together.

You see, as explained earlier you have your chest voice… this is the register that you hit your lower notes in. And at the top of your vocal range you have your head voice. This is the vocal register that you hit your highest notes in.

Your Chest Voice and Head Voice are vocal registers that have their respective sound character:

Your Chest Voice is more powerful and very thick.

Your Head Voice is much sweeter yet less powerful.

When you develop a strong middle or mixed register, you are basically using all the good bits from both of your other registers. Your middle voice has the power of your Chest Voice together with the sweetness of your Head Voice.

Techniques For Improving Your Singing -

The Most Important Thing That Happens
When You Develop Your Middle Voice?

There’s one more huge reason that developing a strong middle or mixed vocal register is vital. When you sing in your middle voice, things are working with your voice. If you are singing incorrectly, you will find it impossible to find your middle register. This means that when you develop your Middle Voice, you can be confident that things will work well during your vocal performance because you know that your voice works well!
